In only 18 days, Mediaboard international is ecstatic and overwhelmed to announce that we have reached our target for our first ever charity campaign (SWF).

For those of you who are unaware, we have been avidly supporting 19-year- old Shivam Nathwani from Leicestershire. Shivam was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe muscle-wasting condition and from the moment we first met him, he has touched our hearts. During the last few years, Shivam’s spine and breathing has deteriorated rapidly and he now requires a respirator to breathe and has been confined to a wheelchair.

As a massive car fanatic, Shivam’s dream has always been to be able to drive, however has been restricted due to his condition. Therefore, our goal was to raise £15,000 to purchase young Shivam his own powered wheel chair to give him a sense of independence and make his dreams come true.

After all the hard work and generosity of many of our associates and the public, in and around Leicestershire, we have smashed our target in record time!

As a sign of appreciation from Shivam and his family, any further donations after meeting the target will be given to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young people in Loughborough, which cares for and provides a care-free break for Shivam and others who are suffering from similar conditions. Rainbows, not only is a vital support network for its users but the amount of care, dedication and hard work the staff all put in is fantastic.

In such a short space of time we have been touched and astounded by the kindness of the people of Leicester and our amazing clients. Shivam and all involved in the campaign are extremely thankful to have such amazing support.

Also, we would like to give a massive thank you to Boxing Champion Anthony Joshua, who very kindly helped launch the campaign, at Athena in Leicester. Since the launch on 19th of May 2017, we have also had Kingpower Stadium host a charity football fundraiser between Leicester City FC staff verses Police Foxes Foundation. SKTV have provided constant video coverage of our efforts and events, keeping us all up to date on the progress.

The Porsche Centre Leicester have provided us with support and memorable gifts, which means an awful lot to Shivam who is mad about cars and racing, which is one of the many passions he possesses which drove us to kick start the campaign.

Mediaboard, staff, clients and family members have also played a part in drumming up support, extra donations and finding fun was to raise cash for Shivam’s chair; as well as raise money and support for the Rainbows Hospice.

However, without the coverage and support from the Leicester Mercury and incredibly vast generosity from Angie Beasley and her team at Miss England we don’t think we would have raised our target so quickly.

Business Development Manager and Brother to Shivam, Pritesh Nathwani said: “I still can’t believe how quickly we have managed to raise the funds for SWF – it began with just a few ideas in my head that seemed impossible. However it soon became a Mediaboard International completed project in less than 30 days. Without any TV/ radio adverts, this campaign really does show the power of social media marketing. I am overwhelmed how everyone has come together and can’t thank you enough.”

We at Mediaboard International can only echo Pritesh’s words and thank every single one of you forcoming together so readily and quickly to ensure a fine young man, and users of a great hospice, receive a great quality of life and have the support they deserve. So once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
